Friends,
May I suggest something that will change your life? If their is anyway you can pull together $100 (or around that) to purchase some studio monitor headphones...(I have sony mdr-v6, sennheisers) it is well worth the cost, and let me tell you why.
One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is to download a new album from itunes, or revisit an album/artist/playlist that I have known for a long time..etc...plug up my headphones to my ipod/computer/iphone etc...lay on my bed with my eyes closed and to take in every single sound actually created in these tracks! It's amazing through the right headphones! The detail is incredible. It is a COMPLETELY different experience! Years ago I would have never dreamed of spending more than 20 bucks on headphones, but I am telling you, if you can afford it, do it PLEASE...and for your hearts sake, give you self AT LEAST 1-2 hrs a week where you can just sit down, close you eyes, and take the music in. It sounds like it would be so elementary, and not that exciting, but when you give that sort of time to take in music that way....it will change the way you hear things!
I've came into four new albums this week. Ingrid Michaelsons "slow the rain", Tina Dico's "Road to Gavle" Bobby Mcferrins "Voice" and John Mayers "Battles Studies."
My nights have been amazing...spending the last 30min- 1 listening to the songs completely engrossed in all the sounds created in the studio on the day these great artists recorded this music.
It's truly a gift a beauty. I hope you try it one day. It has changed my life.
Love, Joy, Peace, and EXCITEMENT!!!
