One of the best things to do...

Friends,

May I suggest something that will change your life? If their is anyway you can pull together $100 (or around that) to purchase some studio monitor headphones...(I have sony mdr-v6, sennheisers) it is well worth the cost, and let me tell you why.

One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is to download a new album from itunes, or revisit an album/artist/playlist that I have known for a long time..etc...plug up my headphones to my ipod/computer/iphone etc...lay on my bed with my eyes closed and to take in every single sound actually created in these tracks! It's amazing through the right headphones! The detail is incredible. It is a COMPLETELY different experience! Years ago I would have never dreamed of spending more than 20 bucks on headphones, but I am telling you, if you can afford it, do it PLEASE...and for your hearts sake, give you self AT LEAST 1-2 hrs a week where you can just sit down, close you eyes, and take the music in. It sounds like it would be so elementary, and not that exciting, but when you give that sort of time to take in music that way....it will change the way you hear things!

I've came into four new albums this week. Ingrid Michaelsons "slow the rain", Tina Dico's "Road to Gavle" Bobby Mcferrins "Voice" and John Mayers "Battles Studies."

My nights have been amazing...spending the last 30min- 1 listening to the songs completely engrossed in all the sounds created in the studio on the day these great artists recorded this music.

It's truly a gift a beauty. I hope you try it one day. It has changed my life.

Love, Joy, Peace, and EXCITEMENT!!!

Morning

It is one of those mornings where I am up far earlier than I probably should be. So I do the usual things to try to put myself back to sleep, fb & twitter check, browse a few of my favorite artists websites for tour dates, etc and I came across anais mitchells blog.

http://www.anaismitchell.com/journal.html

She wrote about something so important to all of us trying to write songs to tell stories.

Read if you get a minute.

More

You are more than enough. The way you were made, the way you are right now, the way you feel, the things that were birthed in you from the beginning of your time here on this earth, is more than enough to be deserving of the love that you want.

You will receive as much love as you expect.

Joy and ultimate peace,

Thoughts...

Isn't it funny how one place can be amazing, exciting, hopeful, inspiring, beautiful, welcoming, bright and in the same moment be scary, intimidating, depressing, lonely, and dark?

That is New York. Full of possibilities, and obstacles...joy and sorrow....comfort and pain.

In all of it's shades of imperfection..it is still one of the most magical places on this earth.

I was reminded of that today.

All the love we ever wanted is open and available to us...we just have to be willing to open our eyes and see it.

I hope this finds you warm hearted....

Joy and Peace

A new day...

So, I am back in NYC after being gone for 9 months! It feels, great, exciting, scary, hopeful, lonely, optimistic, overwhelming, but mostly good. 8-)

I am so happy to be back in my apartment in Brooklyn...with my affirmations on the door and the walls, colors everywhere, and beautiful brownstones to stare into....people to watch from the benches on the promenade and wonder about...the local coffee shop to sit inside of..etc

I am excited to see how this city will move me again...what love I will find, or rather chase after. If one could only switch off that thing that happens when you look into someones eyes and care so easily...that yearns so deeply. Someone told me a story that reminded her that "we really do get what we want", if we believe it deeply enough. I believe that to be true...so maybe I will just live my life...feel what I feel...and believe in the hopeful possibilities of all things.

Off to work work work, on the design of my EP "Show and tell". I am so excited to share it with you guys! I'll keep you updated!!

Love and Peace,
-C
